The "Granado" was one of twelve bomb vessels built by the Royal Navy to supplement its depleted fleet at the outbreak of the War of Jenkin's Ear (1739). Designed for laying siege from the sea, it had to accommodate heavy mortars with their tremendous recoil. Photos of the model in Britain's National Maritime Museum, plus 300 line drawings.
